This past Saturday, we had a family outing to Marbles Children’s Museum in downtown Raleigh. Sam hasn’t been since he learned to walk so there was TONS for him to experience. The first thing he played with were these gigantic chess pieces. Here he is playing and then a picture I took from the second floor showing the chess board.

Next, Sam climbed aboard the bus to head to the preschool area. He had a BLAST in this area.

Playing in the phone booth. When we FINALLY pulled him from this toy, he cried. It was kind of sad.

Then we finally moved on to other areas of the museum. They had a water activity that Sam enjoyed. If you look closely, you can see water on his hands and face from where he was splashing.

He saw the pirate ship and took off running towards it. He couldn’t do much inside though because he would have to climb a ladder.

Then we went outside and played in the kid’s garden. He really like this wooden animal inside of a tee pee.

He and I played in the “Digger Island”…

From there, we progressed upstairs. This area was designed more for older children but, Sam enjoyed a few things.
The big spinning globe was a hit. I think it’s because he loves balls right now. (Side note: check out the skinny dad! I’m so proud of him!)

We love the children’s museum. I am looking forward to many trips there in the future. Sam had a blast. We stopped to grab lunch on the way home and he fell asleep on the way to the restaurant. He was worn out!
