We left Travis’ parents around 9:30 to go to Dandridge, TN. For some fun trivia, it is the second oldest town in TN. See…

For other fun trivia, when we got married we decided to keep with the “2nd oldest” theme and honeymooned in St. Marys, GA which is the second oldest continuously inhabited city in the US. Ok, that wasn’t the REAL reason we went there but it was kind of cool for trivia.

Anyway, back to our trip… we got there at noon-ish and went to pick up a key to a cabin on the lake that we were going to stay in. However, there had been a little confusion and the owner of the cabin was actually in town Easter weekend so we ended up in a hotel room. A lovely couple from our old church so graciously paid for our room while we were there. In fact, we didn’t really have a choice. When we got to their house instead of the cabin keys, they handed us the hotel keys and said that they had already checked us in, paid, etc. Thanks SO MUCH guys!!

Driving in, I started taking pictures of scenery. In fact, I took a lot of scenery pictures. I can’t understand how someone could live/visit that area and NOT believe in God. The beauty and peacefulness of the area is amazing!!

That night, we went to a soccer game that the youth minister’s youngest daughter was playing in. Tessa was born shortly before we moved back to New Orleans but, we kind of informally “adopted” her older sister, Ashtyn, while we lived there.

Tessa was taking a water break and getting a pep talk from her mom, Leanne, and Ashtyn was giving her something in the picture below.

We left the game a little early so we could go to senior adult game night at FBC Dandridge- the church where Travis served as Minister of Education AND the church where we were married. After visiting with them for a bit, we ate supper and then went to Sevierville to meet our friends for some ice cream.

I really liked the waterfall that was outside of the Marble Slab…

While we waited on them to get out of the Bass Pro Shop, Sam and I goofed off and took silly pictures. Here are a few…

Once we started eating ice cream, I didn’t take any pictures. 😦 Therefore, there are no photos to show Ashtyn and Tessa walking Sam around on his “leash”, Ashtyn rock climbing up a column outside of the Marble Slab, or of Tessa sitting in a chair “holding” Sam between her legs because he was tired (just ignore the fact that our giant two year old weighs more than this adorable ALMOST six year old.)

Once we left there, we went back to the hotel and went to sleep- we were exhausted!! Plus, we had BIG plans for the next day- GATLINBURG!!!
