It is still a very uneventful storm around our house. We did “venture” out for lunch and saw a couple of small-ish branches lying on the side of some roads. We were sitting at a red light and watched a transformer blow- that was the coolest big blue ball of light I’ve ever seen! Sam enjoyed it and yelled “fireworks!” HA! Then, he wanted to see more fireworks. Obviously, it is still very windy and the gusts seem to be more frequently heard inside our house but we still just have leaves flying around. Sam and I “played” on the front porch this morning and I took pictures (big shock, I know) and made a video (posted below) of what our little corner of the world looks like. The only thing weird was that the wind blew our mailbox door open. However, this made it easy to figure out when the mail arrived- the mail lady closed our mailbox. HA! Anyway, here are some pictures of my attempts at capturing the blowing trees, Sam, and the clouds. Enjoy!

Unless something “exciting” happens, this will be the end of Hurricane Irene updates from me. I hope you’ve enjoyed vicariously experiencing our rain shower. Thankfully, we didn’t have to evacuate like we did almost 6 years ago to the day- for us, it will have been 6 years tomorrow that we evacuated for Katrina.
🙂
