was a total blessing!

The previous owners of our house had a propane tank for the gas logs. Apparently, they wanted it to look “cutesy” and so they latticed it into a cage in the corner of our house- right at one of the master bedroom windows! We haven’t liked it the entire time we have lived year but have never done anything about it.

This afternoon, I kept hearing something hit the house randomly but never could find anything when I looked out the windows. Well, tonight after supper we attempted to go to Wal-Mart (closed due to power outage) and so we wound up at Target- where we should’ve gone in the first place. Anyway… when we drove by our house, I was checking things out for potential damage and noticed that the lattice work “cage” had been damaged. When we got home, Travis was able to finish demolishing it so that we don’t have to listen to it hit the house tonight. It looks SO MUCH better now! However, silly me took plenty of pictures during our hurricane “clean up” but failed to take a picture of how it looks now. I guess I will do that another day. HA!

The door to our crawl space also fell down but Travis easily popped it back into place.

Once the crawl space was closed back up, Travis got to work demolishing the “cage” and removing the posts. That has been our main problem. The posts were DEEP in the ground and our ground has never been wet enough for Travis to even begin to make them wiggle, let alone pick them up out of the ground.
This picture was “rigged” because I needed a picture of Travis working so that you could see what Sam ended up doing.

When we got home, our sky was beautiful! I tried to take pictures but they don’t do it justice.

I love how the sky always looks right after a hurricane- God’s majesty is beyond amazing!
