While we were in SC, they had this special breakfast for members of our local zoo. When the workers got there that Saturday morning, they discovered that the VAST majority of the Koi in the pond were dead. They have sent the fish off to the LSU Vet School to try to find out what happened. Well, they then decided to do a fundraiser to get some money to replace the Koi and so the Saturday after we got back from SC, we headed to the zoo!
Sam got to have his face painted for the first time. He LOVED it!

They made this gigantic paper-mache Koi bank for people to put money in its mouth so they could buy more Koi. Sam enjoyed feeding this fish.

Check out the Colobus Monkey baby! You can BARELY see it in the picture below. One of the zoo keepers told us that they are usually white until close to their first birthday and then they turn black. How interesting!

Ha! The serval was in one of the offices and was watching all the birds and peacocks when we walked by. I thought it was kind of funny.
