The Shriner’s circus is in CENLA right now. When I learned about this, I immediately made plans for us to go. We thought Sam would enjoy it and he definitely did! It was a great little circus.

Since it was a Shriner circus, there were some formalities at the beginning- they recognized the children in attendance that had been to the Shriner hospital for treatment, prayed, and sung the National Anthem.

Then the first act was up- the Tigers!!!

Then there were acrobats swinging from silk ribbons. It was quite neat!

Sam LOVED his popcorn!

There was a lady who did tricks with a bear. During intermission, they also had the bear out for photo ops. We didn’t take them up on that offer. 🙂

One of the coolest acts was this guy who did BMX bike tricks. In the series of pictures below, he rode down a ramp and then up another one and cut a flip (or two?) in the air before landing on the ramp on the other side. Amazing! (I just wish my photos weren’t so blurry- however, he was going fast, we were across the coliseum from him, and it was dark.)

Then there was the guy who stacked a bunch of chairs on a pedestal and stood on his head once on top of all of them.

Then the BMX biker who cut the flip earlier, came out and did tricks inside of a cage. He was slowly joined by 2 other bikers. That meant that there were THREE BMX bikers inside of a not-very-large cage going very fast round and round the cage. I attempted photos but it was kind of difficult since they were super fast and in a cage.

It was a fun circus!

Periodically, I kept thinking that next year at the circus we will have a baby with us. Other than plummeting blood sugar levels (just like I had with Sam) I am feeling well. I don’t think it has fully sunk in yet though that Baby Wright #2 is on the way.
