Today is Sam’s 4th birthday. We kept it fairly low-key because I am in the midst of 1st trimester EXHAUSTION!

He opened his gifts…

He received a car adaptor for his v-reader, a couple of games for the v-reader, and some books.

Just a fun way to help him get ready for a baby brother or sister…

He is still a bit weary of fire…

YUM!

He also took cupcakes and little goodie bags to school for a party during snack time with his classmates. He picked his cupcakes out himself. They came from Harlow’s, our favorite donut shop. I did not attend because Travis and I decided it would be best for me not to. After the circus, Sam wanted nothing to do with school or his classmates and only wanted to go home with me. Therefore, we didn’t want to risk him getting upset when he couldn’t leave with me after snack time. His teachers are pretty good about taking pictures so hopefully one of them will snap a few pics of his little party.

Sam is such a blessing to us and we love celebrating his birthdays. They are so fun- even when they seem super super simple to people outside of our family. My only “regret” is that we still haven’t sold our house in NC and so the plate I decorated for use on special days (like first days of school and birthdays) is still in storage so he didn’t get to eat breakfast/lunch/supper on it. Oh well… next year, he will definitely be able to!!
