One of the last events of the “Twelve Days of Christmas” here in CENLA is the Pineville Christmas parade. We went to it last night and I think it’s length would rival any of the “Super Krewe” Mardi Gras parades down in New Orleans. It. Was. So. Long. It took 3 hours before Santa (last float) ever came by!! WOW! I am not quite sure how feasible this parade will be next year for us- we might have to go for a bit and leave or just figure out how to arrive late. However, this year, it was fun and Sam was into it for about 2.5 hours. 🙂 We stood with our friends, The Millers, outside of their church, River Outreach Center, which was very nice because that allowed Sam and I bathroom access. Whew!!! I am going to post some of my favorite pictures and comment as needed. Warning: there will probably be a lot of pictures because it really was a fun parade.

The grand marshall of the parade is LC’s football coach, Coach Dunn, and also the pastor of River Outreach Center.

We heard the following float LONG before we ever saw it. Travis even made a prediction that if Philadelphia BC had a float he bet that was it. He was right!! How funny!

Bowden on Sam’s leash- he kept trying to run out and join the parade. Hee Hee! He is so adorable!

This picture made Sam’s night (and probably his year)- he was so excited. We were just hanging out in between floats and one of the motorcycle police pulled up right in front of us and asked if Sam wanted to sit on his bike. Sam IMMEDIATELY said yes and he helped him up there. I LOVE this about living in a small town. Sam still hasn’t stopped talking about this “powice man” and probably will continue talking about him for a long time to come. 🙂
