I am so thankful that I was able to go as a chaperone on Sam’s field trip to the tree farm. He has gone on several others but I haven’t felt too well (tired/blood sugar/sick/etc.) to go on them so this was my first. It was so much fun!

They make cane syrup and we were able to see a demonstration on how they use a donkey to get the juice from sugar cane and then cook it to make syrup. It was neat!

Then we went on a hay ride and Sam decided to sit in one of his teacher’s laps.

After the hayride, the kids played on a playground for a bit. Sam decided to first try this tall, metal slide…

Sadly, that was the first and last time he went down that slide. He landed HARD on his booty and I had to pick him up and hold him for a long time to calm him down. He cried and cried. It was so pitiful and broke my heart. 😦

Finally, he felt good enough to go climb on some tires and so I took pictures of some goats that had been walking around on top of us.
