I don’t know when I haven’t looked forward to this day. Even before Sam was born, I looked forward to one day having a little Mission Friend-er. In my opinion it is a vital missions education component for the local church since it gets the little kids aware of missionaries and how they help people and share Jesus with them. Wherever we’ve lived, we’ve always looked for churches with active Mission Friends, RAs, GAs, etc. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Thankfully, they are all still going STRONG at FBC Pineville and, thankfully, Sam was able to participate this year and he absolutely loved it.

Tonight was the missions recognition service. Mrs. Janie Wise, Sam’s Mission Friends teacher (and state WMU director,) introduced and shared about some of the activities they did. Sam’s favorite was the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.

I am already excited about next year and seeing what missionaries Sam learns about.

Mission Friends are happy.
Mission Friends are fun.
Mission Friends share God’s love with everyone.
