I can’t believe Sam is old enough for Kindergarten! It still seems surreal since, in NC, he would be only entering pre-K. I still haven’t gotten used to the cut-off age difference. He will be the baby in the class but he can totally handle it- especially since his class will only have around 17 kids with a full-time teacher assistant! That has definitely calmed my anxious mommy nerves. He is beyond excited and on Wednesday, we took his stuff to school for drop-off and meet the teacher night. Here was Sam taking his supplies to the van.

Today, we celebrated the end of summer by visiting the Alligator Farm up in Natchitoches. It was really neat!! Sam enjoyed the feeding show but he really enjoyed running around looking at all the animals you could pet.

Despite the Louisiana heat, Gabrielle slept most of the time in her stroller. She is a great traveling baby and we are definitely thankful for that!

You could feed the emu but, because of our zoo, we know that emus are mean so we just watched them. 🙂

The big gators started swimming toward the feeding “house” when it was time for the show.

You can see where they’ve missed a few times and actually eaten parts of the boat. HA! Oops!

These gators were HUGE!

I love alligators but, I am DEFINITELY thankful these gigantic creatures are behind a fence. 🙂

After the show, we started back towards the parking lot- stopping by the petting zoo part first. The deer were smart and were staying in the shade.

Sam doesn’t like to actually allow animals to eat out of his hands so, he dropped his food on the wood and just watched them eat.

From August 2013

Daddy, however, would feed straight from his hand!

I find the hand sanitizer location funny.

Along the front of the building, were beautiful Louisiana murals. I LOVED them!

The entire place was built on or around a swamp. The majority of the time we were there, we were walking on boardwalks.
