My mom has one of those foam antenna toppers on her van. It is actually a cross. I came down the stairs this afternoon, and saw that Sam had put an antenna on his trike. Obviously, I had to take a picture.

Today was “tacky day” at Sam’s preschool. His outfit makes me laugh. He absolutely loved being able to go to school with two different colored socks on. It is the little things in life that make him happy…

After school and lunch at Chick Fil A, Sam and I played with chalk on the balcony.

My aunt mailed Sam a goodie box. He received it today and has been playing with this light up nose ever since.

My grandmama bought Sam a subscription to the Smithsonian Magazine. She thought he would enjoy the pictures and the articles. I am sure he will. However, she did this without telling us and so I was slightly confused when Sam got this in the mail today…

HA! After a few phone calls, I figured out what happened. I mean, he has received a credit card application before and so why should I be surprised that he has randomly acquired a magazine subscription?

Sam has become more interested in SIMON flash lately. Today, he managed to get the pattern up to either 9 or 10 before missing. Way to go!

Sam and Travis went to a Lowes Kids Clinic this morning. Sam built a “Gravedigger” Monster Truck. Pretty cool!

Sam has been GREAT about helping with various things around our apartment. Tonight, he carried the laundry upstairs for me.

One of my dad’s former co-workers lives at the very beginning of the parade route for the Fat Tuesday parade in Bay St. Louis. He invited us to come to his house for the parade so Sam would have a fenced yard to run around in and I would have a bathroom to use as necessary. HA!
It was a very rainy parade and it was a lot shorter than it normally is because it is a free parade and therefore, groups don’t pay to ride and chose to not ride in the rain. However, Sam still wound up with TONS of stuff. I mainly stayed on the porch and took pictures. My parents sported ponchos and an umbrella and kept up with Sam and his throws.
Sam actually got throws just walking through the floats on the way to Capt. Tim’s house!

I hope Gabrielle enjoys parades because I will probably take her to one next Mardi Gras! Maybe I can convince her Daddy to join us- he stayed back home to do some work related stuff. He isn’t a big parade fan.
After the parade, my parents brought Sam and I back home. One of the rivers we drove over was very foggy!

Dad has been wanting to try this Landry’s ever since we moved back to LA. He liked the one that was on the MS coast but it didn’t reopen after Katrina. This one was VERY good and they were very accommodating with my gluten “issue.”

This morning, Sam’s school had a parade for all the kids to participate in. It was really cute. Each class did something different and processed out to the oohs and ahhs of parents. Sam’s class made their own floats- with parental help. Sam’s float was an airplane. It turned out rather cute.
During Sam’s nap this past Sunday, Travis built the airplane since it involved a lot of cutting and taping.

Last night, Sam and I cut construction paper and taped it to cover the box. Travis used my sewing machine to make really nice straps for Sam to use to wear his float. It turned out great!

This morning, he was so excited that he insisted on wearing his plane from our apartment to the car.

His “mask” cracks me up.
After the parade, they had a King Cake party in the fellowship hall. The preK class has been learning about Louisiana all week and so they shared a cute song about Louisiana they learned.

Sam was very excited about his cupcake once his little performance was over.

I did manage to video the parade and their singing. The parade was actually held in the church’s parking garage so it was very dark. For some reason, the focus on my video camera wasn’t the best but you can still see what went on.
After his snack, we came home and have had a very low-key day at Casa Wright.
